Did George Milton commit this crime?

By: Davi

On March 1, at approximately 9:20 AM, a witness named Chuck Long, an old friend of George Milton and Lennie Small, was interviewed. Mr. Long is a rancher, 32 years old, and lives in Sacramento, California. Mr. Long dropped out of high school and left his home at a young age to find jobs to help him and his family financially. Mr. Long met Mr. Milton and Mr. Small while on a job, and soon began travelling with them for more jobs. Mr. Long says that he believes he knew them very well. When he first met them, Mr. Long noticed that Mr. Milton and Mr. Small seemed to be like brothers, with a very good relationship, and both of them looking out for each other. After a period of time, Mr. Long started noticing that it was not as he first believed. Mr. Milton continuously controlled Mr. Small by giving orders and speaking for him. Mr. Long claims that he strongly believes that Mr. Milton is responsible for the murder of Mr. Small. During the interrogation from the defense lawyers, he told of a time when Mr. Milton ordered Mr. Small to jump into river, despite the fact that Mr. Small couldn’t swim. Mr. Long stated that he saw Mr. Milton laughing and joking about Mr. Small for his disability. Mr. Long also claims that Mr. Milton always talked behind Mr. Small’s back about how he would take Mr. Small’s money for his dream of his own land, while falsely leading Mr. Small to believe that it was a shared dream between them. During the testimony, Mr. Long said that he did not try to defend Mr. Small from Mr. Milton’s cruel pranks and controlling ways, because he thought that it was simply how they were as close friends. After seeing how awful the pranks were, he tried to communicate to Mr. Small about the situation, which Mr. Small said that he knew Mr. Milton wouldn’t hurt him and that he would do anything for him. He stopped travelling with them after a while, because he did not see Mr. Milton changing his ways of cruelty and abuse towards Mr. Small. Mr. Long said that he was not surprised when he heard that Mr. Milton had been accused of killing Mr. Small, for he had seen Mr. Milton lose his temper of Mr. Small several times. At the end Mr. Long states he was sure that Mr. Milton was happy with murdering his so-called “best friend”.
